Son Gohan (孫 悟飯, addressed only as Gohan in most English adaptations) is a fictional character from the Dragon Ball universe, created by Akira Toriyama as a protagonist for the media franchise, which consists of a series of manga, anime, soundtracks, movies, television specials, video games, and other collectibles. Gohan is introduced as the first son of the primary protagonist, Son Goku, and his wife, Chi-Chi, in volume #17 of the original manga, or the premiere episode of its animated adaptation, Dragon Ball Z. Gohan is the first Saiyans/Human hybrid in the series.

From his childhood Gohan has shown to have tremendous hidden power, first seen when Piccolo and Goku were being easily beaten by Raditz, Gohan was very angered watching his father getting hurt so much that he broke Raditz's saiyan armor and also heavily weakened him. His power continued to show in the battle against Frieza where he several times nearly defeated Frieza because of his hidden power. He became the first Saiyan to go Super Saiyan 2. This helped him when he defeated Cell. He also gained a Mystic Transformation which was gained by Elder Kai releasing all of Gohan's hidden abilities. He beat Super Buu to a pulp but lost when the pink demon absorbed Gotenks and Piccolo due to him becoming much more powerful. At the end of Dragon Ball Z (before the 10 year gap) he was the strongest Z-Fighter(although this is debated by many, it is true)

He usually has a gentle personality, and does not hurt anyone unless heavily provoked.
